Webb Institute
At Adaptive Green, we served as the landscape designer and builder for the significant renovation and expansion of The Couch Academic Center at the Webb Institute. This project is distinguished by an American Hydrotech intensive green roof assembly, which includes permeable pavement, specimen trees, and a meticulously manicured lawn. Our new construction, crowned with a planted roof, successfully preserved the campus landscape while offering students a practical lesson in environmental responsibility. Surrounding the courtyard, arcades shield the classrooms from direct sunlight and solar heat gain, contributing to the building’s energy efficiency. By integrating these green infrastructure elements, we not only enhanced the aesthetic appeal and environmental sustainability of The Couch Academic Center but also provided a living example of innovative landscape design and construction that prioritizes ecological stewardship and education.
